The Japanese carmaker showcased its impressive Innova Crysta along with the all-new Prius Hybrid. Both cars created quite a buzz at the Auto Expo. The second half of 2016 should see both these cars marauding on the Indian roads.
The latest variant of Toyota’s MPV, the Innova Crysta was a big draw for visitors. Since this is the first revamped variant of the vehicle, the curiosity about Toyota’s most popular car was to be expected.
Another globally popular Toyota model is the Prius and the brand showcased its hybrid variant. The new Prius comes with petrol as well as an electric motor. The 1.8 litre petrol engine can generate 97.8 bhp and a max torque of 142NM. The electric motor, on the other hand, can produce 73 bhp of power.
Also on display was Toyota’s Le Mans racing car – the hybrid TS040 – which competed in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The other Toyota models which were on display at the Auto Expo included the Camry hybrid, Etios Cross, Land Cruiser and the Fortuner. The simulator at the Toyota pavilion was also a big hit amongst the visitors.
