Tottenham XI vs Southampton: Confirmed team news, predicted XI and latest injuries for FA Cup clash

Left-back remains Jose Mourinho's problem position as he prepares his Tottenham team to face Southampton for the first time in just over three weeks.

Ben Davies is still unfit, Danny Rose is up for sale and Ryan Sessegnon struggled against Norwich, conceding a second-half penalty to support Mourinho's claim that the teenager is still not ready to play in the back four.

Mourinho is therefore expected to choose between Jan Vertonghen and Japhet Tanganga at left-back for Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie, with the other partnering Toby Alderweireld in the heart of defence.

Elsewhere, Spurs fans could finally be treated to a Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele midfield pairing, with Harry Winks likely to miss out with an ankle problem, although new signing Gedson Fernandes is also pushing for a start.

It will likely be as you were in the front four, although Mourinho must be tempted to push Dele Alli to false nine after his display against Norwich.

Predicted Tottenham XI (4-3-3): Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Tanganga; Lo Celso, Ndombele; Lamela, Alli, Son, Lucas
