IPL 2019 is less than a month away now. All the 8 participating teams are gearing up for tournament, and preparations are going on in full swing. Indian international players are expected to join their respective franchises after the conclusion of the current ODI series with Australia.

The season will commence with a match between RCB and CSK on March 23rd. In this slideshow, we are going to take a look at the most consistent Indian batsmen from the last season.

#5 Suryakumar Yadav - Mumbai Indians (512 runs)

Suryakumar Yadav

Mumbai Indians opener Suryakumar Yadav was one of the standout performers for the Mumbai franchise in the last season. He was the highest run scorer for the team, managing to outscore the likes of Rohit Sharma, Evin Lewis and Hardik Pandya.

Yadav played 14 matches and scored 512 runs at an average of 36.57 including 4 fifties. He scored his runs at a strike rate of 133.33

#4 Virat Kohli - Royal Challengers Bangalore (530 runs)

RCB skipper - Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, in spite of having a sub-par season last year by his lofty standards, is on the fourth spot of this list. The Indian captain did score in excess of 500 runs but could not take his team into the qualifiers as he lacked support from the other batsmen.

The complete failure of the bowling department was also one of the major reasons for a disappointing season for RCB.

Kohli played 14 matches and scored 530 runs at an average of 48.18 including 4 fifties. He scored his runs at a strike rate of 139.11

#3 Ambati Rayudu - Chennai Super Kings (602 runs)

Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu had a career resurgence during IPL 2018 as he managed to secure a place in the Indian ODI team through a highly consistent season. His scintillating performances for CSK provided his international career a new lease of life.

Rayudu has since gone on to cement his place in the Indian ODI team, and looks certain to play the ICC World Cup in England later this year.

He played 16 matches last year and scored 602 runs at an average of 43 including 3 fifties and 1 century. He scored his runs at an impressive strike rate of 149.75.

#2 Lokesh Rahul - Kings XI Punjab (659 runs)

KL Rahul

KL Rahul had a near perfect season with the bat last year as he almost single-handedly took KXIP team into the playoffs. Lack of support from the other batsmen led to the downfall of KXIP after an impressive start to their season.

Rahul, through his impressive performances during the 2018 season, managed to regain his spot in the Indian limited overs squads.

He played 14 matches last year and scored 659 runs at an average of 54.92 including 6 fifties. He scored his runs at an impressive strike rate of 158.41.

#1 Rishabh Pant - Delhi Capitals (684 runs)

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant had a superlative season with the bat last year. He was the second highest run scorer, just behind Kane Williamson, who scored 735 runs.

Pant managed to break the record of the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL when he scored 128 runs in an innings against SRH. His consistent performances during IPL resulted in his selection into the Indian T20 side.

Pant played 14 matches and scored 684 runs at an average of 52.62 including 5 fifties and 1 century. He scored his runs at an astonishing strike rate of 173.60.
