Today till 9 am, 9,43,34,262 COVID vaccine doses given to people: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan holds 24th meeting of the High-level Group of Ministers to review the situation of outbreak & preparations and said 9,43,34,262 doses have been given to people in India till 9 o'clock, Apr 09. “Today at 9 o'clock, the latest figures suggest that 9,43,34,262 doses have been given to people in India. In the last 24 hours, we've given 36,91,511 doses. Last week, we even gave 43 lakh doses one day, probably the highest given anywhere in the whole world,” the minister said. “As far as healthcare workers are concerned, over 89 Lakhs have got first dose & over 54 Lakhs have got the second dose. As far as frontline or field level workers are concerned, over 98 Lakhs have got the first dose & over 45 Lakhs have got the second dose,” he added. “Till now we have exported 6.45 crore doses to 84 countries, which includes 1.05 crores to 44 countries as grants, 3.58 crores to 25 countries as commercial contracts & 1.82 crores to 39 countries through the COVAX facility of WHO,” he further added.
