TN governor Banwarilal Purohit puts onus on President to decide on Rajiv Gandhi's assassinators fate

Ahead of the state assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, DMK & AIADMK came out and demanded the release of Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassinators. The Supreme Court expressed disappointment at the Governor's tardiness. State governor Banwarilal Purohit has now stated that the President of India is the appropriate competent authority to deal with State government 2018 recommendation, and to grant remission to Rajiv Gandhi's assassinators. The political parties are also slamming Banwarilal Purohit for taking so much time in giving his permission for the same. The ball however, has now been transferred to President's court. Political pressure is also mounting on the government for the same.
