At least 3 Tamil Nadu farmers fainted as they continued with their hunger strike. The Tamil Nadu farmers protest over drought relief funds which has entered its third week is now at its peak with farmers succumbing to the dreadful scorching heat of the national capital. Over 25 people were on a hunger strike with three of them getting affected by dysentery, headache and fever. Following this ordeal these farmers fainted and were later taken to the hospital. The farmers have been demanding a drought relief package of Rs. 40,000 crore from the Centre whilst protesting at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar for the past 26 days.
