TMC alleges BJP behind candidate's attack during campaign in Cooch Behar, seeks action

Bengal polls: Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Girindra Nath Barman was allegedly attacked while campaigning for the assembly elections in the Cooch Behar district of North Bengal. The TMC Mathabhanga candidate was campaigning ahead of the fourth phase of the assembly elections in West Bengal when the attack took place. The Trinamool Congress put out a tweet sharing pictures of Burman who was injured in the attack. "BJP goons vandalised his car and attacked him. He has sustained head injuries. We demand action," said a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker. The TMC has also alleged that he was attacked by the "Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) goons" and has sought the Election Commission of India's intervention into the matter.
