New Delhi, Apr 30 (PTI) Three persons were charred to death while a three-year-old girl was injured in two separate fire incidents in the national capital early today.
In the first incident, Anjali (28) and Aditi (13) were charred to death when a house, where marriage celebrations were being held, caught fire. A three-year-old was also injured.
The incident was reported at 4.40 AM when the marriage procession had left for the bride’s house. According to the fire department, two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and controlled the blaze after few hours.
The department said that the reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
In another incident, a 50-year-old man died when a major fire engulfed a godown in Malviya Nagar. Around 30 shanties in the vicinity were gutted. The deceased was identified as Ashok Gupta.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia visited the spot and met the victims.
