Three Bodo militants arrested by Kerala Police
The Kerala Police has apprehended three suspected Bodo militants from Kerala's Perumbavoor region.The police action was initiated, today morning, following specific inputs from the Assam Police last night.
According to police, the suspected militants were residing in a plywood factory in Perumbavoor under the pretext of being migrant labourer. Following the fax message from the Assam Police, Ernakulam rural SP called for an urgent meeting with the Intelligence Bureau officials for confirmation and chalked out a plan to intercept the militants.
The apprehended personnel have been accused in multiple cases in Assam, including UAPA and the Arms Act. They are believed to be members of banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB).
All three men are being questioned by the state police for getting information about their plans to come to Kerala. A special team from the Assam Police will reach Kochi tonight or tomorrow to take part in the interrogation.
