13 Feb 2021: Tesla must recall 12,300 units of Model X: Germany's KBA
Tesla will possibly be recalling 12,300 units of the Model X with faulty body moldings globally, according to a declaration made by KBA - Germany's motor vehicle authority.
KBA has said that the recall affects vehicles built in 2015 and 2016, stressing that the defective molding could fall off the car and result in a mishap.

Earlier this month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US had asked Tesla to recall 1,34,951 Model S and Model X cars with touchscreen displays that could fail and result in significant safety issues.

The Tesla Model X features a sporty design with a sleek grille, a sloping roofline, optimized aerodynamics, a rear spoiler, and flush door handles. For lighting, it has sleek LED headlamps and wrap-around taillights.
On the sides, the SUV is flanked by body-colored ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, wheel cladding, sharp-looking alloy wheels, and 'Falcon Wing' doors.

The Tesla Model X draws power from up to three electric motors that can deliver up to 1,020hp of maximum power. Depending on the model, the SUV offers a range of up to 580km on a single charge.

For safety, the SUV has safety provisions like crash sensors, a 360-degree-view camera, and an autopilot mode.

The Tesla Model X starts at $89,990 (roughly Rs. 65 lakh) for the dual-motor Long Range model and $1,19,990 (approximately Rs. 87 lakh) for the top-spec tri-motor Plaid variant.
