Terrorists were planning attack on Srinagar-Pulwama highway: Kashmir IGP

Srinagar, July 07 (ANI): After recently concluded Pulwama encounter on July 02, Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar informed that the terrorists were planning to carry out attack on Srinagar-Pulwama National Highway but got neutralized. He said, “Based on the input received last evening about 5 terrorists who were hiding in the Hanjin village, Army, Police and CRPF cordoned off the area. Army personnel was critically injured in the initial firing and succumbed to the injuries. Parents of Amir, a terror associate were called to appeal to surrender but failed. All 5 LeT terrorists including a Pakistani terrorist Rehan were killed. Arms, ammunition and some documents recovered. They were planning an attack on Srinagar-Pulwama National Highway.” On the recent exfiltration reported in the Uri area, IGP Vijay Kumar said, “Police arrested three persons including one from Sopore, based on the inputs. FIR has been lodged. We are investing the matter and are looking for kingpin”.
