Hyderabad, May 17 (PTI) Telangana on Monday logged 3,961 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the infection count to 5,32,784 cases, while the toll rose to 2,985 with 30 more deaths, a government bulletin said.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 631, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (258) and Rangareddy (257).
The state has 49,341 active cases and over 62,000 samples were tested.
Total recoveries were at 4,80,458, with 5,559people being cured.
Cumulatively, over 1.41 crore samples have been tested.The samples tested per million population was over 3.79 lakh, the bulletin said.
The case fatality and recovery rates in the state were 0.56 per cent and 90.17 per cent respectively as against 1.1 per cent and 84.8 per cent at the national level.
Meanwhile, an official release said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao instructed officials concerned to set up oxygen generators with a combined capacity of 324 tonnes per day at 48 government hospitals in the state.
The authorities were also ordered to set up an additional 100-tonneliquid oxygen plant in Hyderabad, it said.
As of Monday, 6,926 beds were vacant in government hospitals, of which 2,253 were oxygen beds, 533 ICU beds and 4,140 general beds, the release said quoting the CM who held a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation.
The officials informed the CM that so far, 57,30,220 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have reached Telangana from the Centre and presently the state has 1.86 lakh doses (both Covaxin and Covishield). PTI GDK BN BALA BN BALA
