Tej Pratap Yadav announces Lalu Prasad movement, JDU calls it move to save corrupt

JDU spokesperson Sanjay Singh said that in the JP movement, hundreds of young leaders had put their future at stake to change the destiny of the nation and that the sole aim of LP movement is greed, corruption, scandal and personal benefit.

RJD leader and former Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav has announced a movement similar to JP movement (Jai Prakash movement) in order to seek justice for RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and the poor of the state. The movement will be known as LP movement (Lalu Prasad movement).

JDU, however, objected to the idea of launching LP movement and said that while JP movement was initiated to save the democracy, LP movement is to save the "corrupt".

"JP Movement was to save the democracy. The movement was against society, patriotism and corruption but, LP movement is to save the corrupt. While JP movement was against corruption, LP movement was to save the Lalu family", said Sanjay Singh JDU spokesperson.

Singh said that in the JP movement, hundreds of young leaders had put their future at stake to change the destiny and picture of the country but, the sole aim of LP movement is greed, corruption, scandal and personal benefits.

He said that Lalu was in jail not because he took part in the freedom struggle but for amassing illegal wealth through corrupt means.

"Lalu is in jail to save his illegally-acquired wealth. RJD should introspect what was the purpose of the JP movement and what is the purpose of LP movement. Leaders like Lalu have not changed and they still believe in abusing the government machinery like they have done in the past", said Sanjay Singh, JDU spokesperson.

JDU also said that after Lalu's jail term begins, his party will disintegrate soon, as senior leaders like Jagdanand Singh, Shivanand Tiwari, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Abdul Bard Siddiqui and Ramchandra Purve won't accept a non-matriculate leader like Tejaswi Yadav as their leader.

"Forget about senior leaders, even MLAs and MLCs do not want to continue in the party. Any RJD leader who would be honest will find it difficult to defend their support to a corrupt leader like Lalu Prasad", said the JDU spokesperson.
