London, Sept. 10 (ANI): A teenager was stabbed to death after youths gate crashed a party they had learned about on Facebook in the UK.
A-level student Jay Whiston, 17, was stabbed in the abdomen as he tried to stop troublemakers from stealing a friend's mobile phone in the party at Cochester, Essex.
According to the Daily Mail, the victim, who was studying law, business and IT at Tendring Technology College, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead.
Partygoers described how the teenage gathering, at which the host's parents were present, descended into chaos as a large number of uninvited guests turned up and began to cause trouble.
According to witnesses, Whiston, who lived with his family, was stabbed when he attempted to intervene in a row over a mobile phone.
Shannon Summers, 15, who attended the party, said: "It started in the garden, it was one on one and then others got involved, adding: "It went all the way to the front. I hid because I was scared."
The UK police has arrested three people in connection with the murder.
Forensics officers have collected and examining a blood-spattered footprint leading into a home a few houses away from where the party was held.
Jay's heartbroken mother, Caroline Shearer paid tribute to her 'lovely boy' and said: "He was caring, sharing and intelligent. He was looking forward to the future and was going to go to university".
"It's any mother's worst nightmare. My son had never been in trouble with the police before. He hated bullies and hated people being unfair," she said.
"I still feel numb but I'm starting to feel angry now. How can thugs ruin innocent lives at their will? There's no rhyme or reason to it," she added. (ANI)
