Calcutta, Dec. 7: The exhibition at Infocom 2012 has received a warm response in the first two days of the meet.
The four-day exhibition at the Milan Mela complex focuses on hardware, software, communication and eGovernance, security and surveillance and infrastructure.
Some of the companies taking part are Alchemist, the State Bank of India, United Bank of India, BSNL, Tata Teleservices, Ericsson, Samsung, Panasonic, Lenovo, Sify, Cisco, Turtle and Lava.
The National Informatics Centre under the ministry of communications and information technology is showcasing various eGovernance initiatives. Students from the Birla Institute of Technology have set up their corner, too.
The Calcutta Port Trust and the West Bengal State Electricity Development Corporation are also among the participants.
A sales executive at the Lenovo stall said, "People are enquiring about our PCs. We are looking to sell as much as we can."
Technology firms and institutes from Taiwan such as Well Linkage and Taipei Computer Association have also set up stalls at the exhibition.
The exhibition hopes to attract over 60,000 people and will end on December 9.
