TDP MP accuses godman of sexual offences inside ashram in his constituency
Senior TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy has accused controversial godman Prabodhanand Swamy of exploiting women sexually in his ashram in Anantpur district in Andhra Pradesh.
Reddy has further alleged that the godman has an unlicensed firearm at his ashram.
Reddy made these shocking allegations as he called on Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu to complain about suspicious activities at the Ashram. The MP said that he has decided to return the security cover provided to him by the state as security officers did not protect him when he was assaulted by followers of the godman.
Reddy told India Today that the government has agreed to constitute a committee to look into the charges of sexual exploitation at the ashram.
On Wednesday, the Hyderabad High Court directed Andhra Pradesh police not to evict residents who had Aadhaar cards and had permanent homes inside the Ashram.
Earlier this week, Reddy staged a dharna at the local police station and called it off only when police vacated the ashram, arrested ten persons and registered 15 cases for violence.
