Tata Altroz spotted in near production-ready form, to be launched in mid-2019

Tata Altroz will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. Expectations are that Tata Motors will price Altroz between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The launch of Tata Altroz is just around the corner. We are already into the fourth month of the year and Tata Motors has announced that it will commercially introduce Altroz in mid-2019. While there has been much talk about the design of Tata Altroz, the upcoming premium hatchback has been spotted in a completely undisguised avatar ahead of its launch.

The picture, posted by Supercharged, shows a near production-ready Tata Altroz and the upcoming premium hatchback is surrounded by several Tata Harriers. It gets the same colour that we saw on Tata Altroz, which was showcased at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show.

After Tata Harrier, Tata Altroz will be the second vehicle from the company to showcase the Impact 2.0 Design Language. Tata Altroz has been engineered on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) Architecture. Since this platform is lightweight, modular and flexible, it allows the manufacturing of multiple body styles with a choice of powertrains, including gasoline, diesel or electric.

The exteriors of Tata Altroz are characterised by chrome finished signature humanity line, dual slim headlamps, stylish grille and piano black ORVM. There is a unique arrowhead at the intersection of the A-pillar. The rear door handle is located on the C pillar. Inside the cabin, one will find a cockpit-like theme. The upcoming premium hatchback will come with a seven-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and TFT cluster display with a new interface.

Under the hood, Tata Altroz is expected to get the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engines that are available with Tata Nexon. Apart from the manual gearbox, there will be an option for an automatic transmission as well.

Tata Altroz is expected to get safety features like driver and co-driver airbags, ABS with EBD, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, park assist with rear sensors, park assist with camera, day and night IRVM and speed alert system.
