Tara Murphy Dougherty Promoted to CEO of Govini

Govini announced today that Tara Murphy Dougherty has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Chris Taylor.

For the past two years, Ms. Murphy Dougherty has served as Govini’s President of National Security, leading strategy and growth, and overseeing Govini’s work with all federal clients. Prior to Govini she held leadership positions in technology across industry, government, and non-profit sectors, including at Palantir Technologies and serving as Chief of Staff for Global Strategic Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, among other senior roles.

Chris Taylor stated, "We are thrilled to promote Tara to CEO of Govini given her breadth of business and defense experience. Coupled with her strategic vision for the organization, we are now set for our next stage of growth."

"I am very excited for the opportunity to lead such a talented and dedicated group of people into our next phase," said Murphy Dougherty. "Govini remains committed to delivering objective, decision-grade data and analytic capabilities across DoD and the national security enterprise, so leaders can better direct investments to innovation and modernization."

Govini’s founder, Eric Gillespie, added, "We also want to thank Chris for his extraordinary service in pivoting and driving the company forward during the last several years of significant growth, including the capture of a single-award, $400 million IDIQ contract with the Department of Defense. We would not be in the terrific market position we are today without Chris’ dynamic leadership. I look forward to continuing to work with him on our Board, alongside national security luminaries Bob Work, former Deputy Secretary of Defense, Sandy Winnefeld, former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and others.
