Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior opened to a very good response and minted a solid figure of Rs 61.75 crore ( Friday – Rs 15.10 crore, Saturday-Rs 20.57 crore and Sunday – Rs 26.08 crore) in first weekend.
Tanhaji held well on first Monday (touched Rs 13.75 crore) as it received the favorable reviews from the audience as per BookMyShow which helped the collections get picked up on the Tuesday with Rs 15.28 crore. The historical drama grew well on Wednesday due to featival celebration across India, collecting Rs 16.72 crore. Tanhaji held very well after a big holiday, collecting in double digit figure of Rs 11.23 crore and completed the first week with Rs 118.91 crore. Since there are no major Bollywood releases this week, Tanhaji remained the first choice of the movie goers, collecting around Rs 9-9.50 crore, summing the total to Rs 127-128 crore. With this amount, Tanhaji has crossed budget which was Rs 125 crore (Production Cost: 110 Crore and Prints & Advertising Cost: 15 Crore) from 3880 screens across India
Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior tells the story of Tanhaji Malusare who was a military leader in the Maratha Empire and has fought alongside Maratha leader Shivaji Maharaj in various battles throughout the years. Tanhaji Malusare is popular for his role in the Battle of Sinhagad and is played by Ajay Devgn.
Chhapaak remained low in its first week. The earnings dropped heavily after a big holiday, consolidating the first week total on a low note with Rs 28.38 crore.
However, the social-drama dropped heavily on second Friday with Rs 1-1.15 crore. As of now, the total 8 days collections is Rs 29-28/9.50 crore and will be considered as Flop.
The budget of Chhapaak is Rs 45 crore ( Production Cost: 35 Crore , Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore) and has been released in 1700 screens across India.
