Tang and Garvit in singles final

Guwahati, Nov. 22: Garvit Batra of India will meet Chin Chun Tang of Chinese Taipei in the boys' singles final of the ITF World Junior Ranking tennis championship at the All Assam Tennis Association complex here tomorrow.

In the girls' singles final, Ann-Christin Nilsson of Germany will play Sai Samhitha Chamarthi of India.

In the boys' semi-finals today, Batra beat compatriot Fatehdeep Singh 6-1, 6-4 and Tang got the better of Anvit Bendre of India 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (2).

In the girls' semi-final, Nilsson eased past Nehel Sahni of India 6-3, 6-2 and Chamarthi overcame compatriot Snehal Mane 6-4, 6-4.

V. Vaghela of India and V. Yagudin of Russia lifted the boys' doubles title today, defeating the Indian pair of K.P. Adavelly and G. Tokas 7-5, 6-4.

In the girls' doubles final, Chamarthi and Sahni of India won the crown, beating compatriots S. Dixith and R. Reddy Pasula 6-2, 6-3.

Shillong win

Shillong Cricket Association today defeated West Khasi Hills District Association by 90 runs in a match of under-25 inter-district cricket tournament at Polo Grounds here, reports our correspondent from Shillong.

Shillong elected to bat and scored 187 for six in 35 overs.

West Khasi Hills were all out for 97 in 27 overs.
