Amidst growing oxygen needs in the state of Tamil Nadu, the first oxygen express train reaches Chennai in the wee hours of this morning. The train, carrying 80 metric tonnes of medical oxygen, left from Durgapur in West Bengal and arrived in the state capital early this morning. As the coronavirus cases have been steadily rising amidst the second wave, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for the past few days has been highlighting the growing need for medical oxygen in the state. This oxygen express train, therefore, comes as a sigh of relief for the people of Tamil Nadu. The health minister, along with other senior ministers of the state, was present at the depot to receive this first consignment.
