Tamil Nadu: Due to scarcity of vaccines, vaccination program has been halted

In 36 districts across Tamil Nadu, the immunization effort has been halted. According to the Health Minister, only 1060 vaccines were available, and that was only in Chennai. However, 86,000 doses of Covaxin have now arrived at SVS DPH in response to a State Government order. With 18,023 instances reported on Thursday, Tamil Nadu was the state with the most, followed by Kerala with 15,567 cases, Maharashtra with 10,891 cases, Karnataka with 9,808 cases, and Andhra Pradesh with 7,796 cases. In the previous 24 hours, India has reported 6,148 deaths, bringing the total death toll to 3,59,676. There were 94,052 new COVID-19 cases and 1,51,367 discharges across the country. Vaccine doses totaling 23,90,58,360 have been administered across the country.
