Tamil Nadu drought situation: DMK demands special assembly session from speaker

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK) Working President MK Stalin on Wednesday met Tamil Nadu assembly speaker P. Dhanapal and demanded a special session. During the meeting, he also raised concern about the plight of the state farmers and present drought-like conditions in the state. Stalin said that the speaker has assured them of taking up the matter with the state Chief Minister at the earliest. Since March 14, hundreds of state farmers have been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar demanding that their loans be forgiven by the Centre.
