Sushant Singh Rajput Signs A Film That Was Rejected By Varun Dhawan?
Sushant Singh Rajput has quite an interesting line-up of films. The actor is currently shooting for Kedarnath, which marks the big Bollywood debut of Sara Ali Khan. Then he also has Chanda Mama Door Ke with R Madhavan and Drive opposite Jacqueline Fernandez. And recent reports suggest that he has come on board for another project, which will be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under their production banner, Excel Entertainment. Interestingly, this was the film that was first offered to Varun Dhawan, but he too has a lot of films in his kitty, and it is because of his busy schedule, this one has slipped away from his hand.
The reports further suggest that when Varun, who has Yash Raj Films’ Sui Dhaga with Anushka, Soojit Sircar’s October and apparently Karan Johar’s next production venture, Shiddat was first offered the role, he took his “own sweet time” to get back to Farhan and Ritesh, but then when he didn’t, they went to Sushant with the script and he has expressed interest. And if everything goes according to the plan, then he will sign the dotted line real soon. A senior trade analyst described the current scenario when it comes to signing a films as he was quoted by a leading daily as saying, “That’s because the actors want to do the film and do not have the dates. They feel it is a great project, and more importantly, do not want any other actor to grab that role. That is one reason they do not revert to the makers trying to see if they can still find time to do the film.”
Ranbir Kapoor said in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, “Jitna bhi try karo, kuch na kuch toh chhootega hi (how much ever you try, but you can’t do everything).” And this is something that these young actors should always remember. One can’t do everything. They will have to let go off a few movies, even if they desperately want to do it.
