The Super Cup clash pitting Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia and Shield Cup winner Kariobangi Sharks have moved from Nairobi to Machakos.
The season curtain raiser was initially set for the Kasarani Stadium but the unavailability of Kenya’s biggest stadium has forced Kenyan Premier League Limited to seek for an alternative venue, Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
“Kasarani is unavailable for use on the match day hence the change. The kick-off time remains the same, 3pm.
"The Super Cup will act as a precursor to the 2018/19 KPL season and will see league champions Gor Mahia take on Domestic Cup winners Kariobangi Sharks,” read a KPL statement obtained by Goal.
The two teams will represent Kenya at the continental stage; Gor Mahia in the Caf Champions League while Sharks will carry the country’s flag in the second tier, Caf Confederation Cup.
