Mumbai City FC:
Key Players: Amrinder Singh, Lucian Goain
Former Indian Super League (ISL) champions Chennaiyin FC have had a dismal domestic season and coach John Gregory would like to make amends in the Super Cup. Aizawl FC did not turn up in the qualifying round and hence, Chennaiyin got a walkover and now they face familiar opponents in Mumbai City.
They have lost on both occasions when they faced the Islanders in the group stage of ISL and will be looking to salvage some lost pride. The 1-0 victory over Colombo FC at the AFC Cup Playoff for a place in the group stage will definitely boost their morale.
Jeje Lalpekhlua did not have a season to remember and the Indian international will look to make the most of the opportunity. His duel with Mumbai's Lucian Goian can have a significant impact on the match result.
In midfield, Anirudh Thapa has a tough job on his hand as he looks to negate the influece of the Mumbai City midfield which looks a bit thin, given that Mumbai are going in with only one foreigner in Lucian Goian.
On the other hand, Rafale Augusto will look to pull the strings for Chennaiyin. If he is on song Friday then the likes of Anwar Ali will have a tough time in containing him.
Can Jeje fire Chennaiyin to the quarters of will Mumbai register their third straight win in this season over the Machans?
