Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a comprehensive 48-run win against Kolkata Knight Riders at home. Chasing mammoth 210, Knight Riders were restricted to 161 for nine in allotted 20 overs. It was captain David Warner’s century earlier that helped Sunrisers post a big total. You can watch video highlights of SRH vs KKR here.

Captain Warner scored a breathtaking century after Sunrisers were put to bat by visitors. Warner, who was dropped couple of times during his knock, played big shots throughout his stay. The left-hander completed his half-century in just 20 balls and then went on to complete century in 43 deliveries.

Warner’s dominance batted Knight Riders out in the first innings of the match. The Sunrisers skipper was then dismissed on a n individual score of 126. His inning included ten fours and eight sixes. Also Check- SRH vs KKR- As it Happened

After Warner, Kane Williamson scored quick-fire 25-ball 40 runs to take SRH to 209 in 20 overs.

In reply, Knight Riders got off to a poor start and lost both the openers, Sunil Narine and Gautam Gambhir, inside first three overs. Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey then tried to steady the ship and stitched 78-run stand for the third wicket.

The duo kept KKR in hunt, but in 11th over the Purple Cap holder Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck to removed Pandey (39).

Soon after losing his partner, Uthappa (53) completed his half-century. But his celebration was half-lived as young Mohammad Siraj had him caught at long-off.

Following Uthappa’s dismissal, Knight Riders lost all the hopes as required run-rate kept climbing. KKR were eventually restricted to 161, 48 runs short of the target.

Despite defeat, Knight Riders continue to occupy top spot on team standings but their net run-rate has taken a hit. On the other hand, Sunrisers now have 13 points and are placed third.
