Karan Johar's much talked about production venture Student of the Year 2 has been in theatres for two weeks now but it looks like the college drama will soon make its way out of the cinema halls. Yes, the film has been struggling to stay afloat at the Indian box office despite taking a good opening on May 10. The movie, starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria in the lead, has been finding it difficult to draw the audience to the theatres since last Monday. Directed by Punit Malhotra, SOTY 2 had got everyone excited with its fun trailer but going by the collections, the teen romantic drama hasn't impressed the masses with its storyline. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and announced the updated figures. He wrote, "#StudentOfTheYear2 remains low... Week 1: ₹ 57.90 cr, Week 2: ₹ 11.01 cr. Total: ₹ 68.91 cr. India biz."
Though Student of the Year 2 had created a good pre-release buzz and was also a solo release, it clearly hasn't managed to pack a solid punch at the ticket windows and that's disappointing considering Tiger has a big fan base and his last release Baaghi 2 was a huge hit.
