Strawberry Moon: Glimpse of last supermoon of the year

Ludhiana (Punjab)/ Puri (Odisha)/Jammu (J&K), June 24 (ANI): The first full moon of summer 2021, also known as the Strawberry Moon rised on June 24, marking the last supermoon of the year. The Strawberry Moon is one of the most colorful moons of the year because of its low, shallow path across the sky. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the Algonquin tribes called it the Strawberry Moon because of the fruit’s harvest season, which takes place around this time. The Old Farmer’s Almanac has an online tool to help you find out when moonrise and moonset will occur in your area. According to a statement from NASA, “June’s full moon arrives Thursday (June 24) at 2:40 p.m. EDT (1940 GMT). Technically, the moon will officially be full before it appears above the horizon, as the full moon rises in the eastern sky at 8:53 p.m. EDT (0053 Friday GMT). The moon will appear full for about three days, starting early Wednesday (June 23) morning through early Saturday (June 26) morning.”
