The Rajasthan Royals team management announced his arrival on Twitter by posting a welcome tweet for him.

Steve Smith and David Warner were handed a one-year ban from Cricket Australia and Cameron Bancroft was given a nine-month ban. A good performance from Smith will help him gain confidence before the 2019 World Cup.

Steve Smith also posted a video on his twitter handle where he says that he is thrilled to be back in Jaipur for the 2019 edition of the IPL and is looking forward to this year’s IPL.

Steve Smith had led the Rising Pune Supergiants to the finals during the 2017 edition of the IPL. He was then picked by Rajasthan Royals in 2018, but could not don the colours due to the ball-tampering ban.

Before arriving for the IPL, Australia’s coach Justin Langer had invited Steve Smith and David Warner to gel with the Australian team in UAE. Australia will be taking on Pakistan in a five-match ODI series which will begin from 22nd March 2019.
