Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal inaugurated a Decentralised Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Peshwa Road in the national capital on Saturday. Developed by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), the plant is based on soil bio technology, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and has a capacity to treat 2 Lakh Litres of sewage water. Chairman of NDMC, Naresh Kumar, informed that the treated water will be used for horticulture purposes. Later, Baijal also visited a flower exhibition organised by NDMC at the Indo Africa Friendship Rose Garden. He also planted a sapling here and felicitated the winners of the exhibition. Along with the Lieutenant Governor, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MP Meenakshi Lekhi was also present at the events.
