State-wide shutdown in Tamil Nadu in support of drought-hit farmers

Opposition parties led by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhaghan (DMK) have called for a state-wide shutdown in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. The joint decision comes in support of the state farmers who have been hit hard by severe drought-like situations in the past couple of years. The shutdown comes just days after a group of farmers called off their massive strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
