Sprinklers, coolers, help animals beat the heat at Nehru Zoological Park

The Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad has made special arrangements to give animals some relief as temperatures are soaring high and has crossed 40 degree Celsius. The zoo authorities have also covered roofs of the cages with jute, natural straws and reeds and are periodically spraying water in the cages in the morning and evening to protect animals from the rising heat. Besides these steps, the authorities also placed sprinklers around certain enclosures to keep the animals cool. The animals are also being given anti-stress medicine and glucose water to beat the heat.
