Netflix has confirmed that The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run will be landing on the streaming service very soon.
UK and international fans will be able to watch SpongeBob's latest adventure on Netflix, and the platform recently confirmed that fans of Mr SquarePants will able to watch the film on the service from November 5.
You know, "if nautical nonsense be something you wish", and all that.
According to its official synopsis, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run sees SpongeBob and best pal Patrick embark on a "madcap mission" to rescue the former's pet snail Gary, who has "snailnapped" by King Poseidon.
Throughout their journey, the duo will traverse the great lengths of the ocean floor in search of their pink-shelled pal, from The Krusty Krab in Bikini Bottom to The Lost City of Atlantic City. They even bump into Keanu Reeves at one point...
While UK and international fans will be able to watch SpongeBob and Patrick's latest adventure on Netflix, in the US the movie is being released on premium digital rental services in early 2021, before arriving on streaming service CBS AllAccess.
"We are thrilled to have The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, a premier, first-run movie from one of ViacomCBS' biggest brands, join CBS All Access' expanding slate of franchise content from across ViacomCBS," said Marc DeBevoise, chief digital officer at ViacomCBS, and president and CEO of ViacomCBS Digital.
"This launch will be perfectly timed with our continued expansion and planned rebranding of the service in early 2021, as we welcome SpongeBob and the gang from Bikini Bottom to the service in the biggest way possible."
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run arrives on Netflix UK & Ireland on November 5. US audiences will be able to watch it on premium digital rental services and streaming service CBS AllAccess from early 2021.
