Jaipur (Rajasthan) July 7 (ANI): The Labour Department will run a special campaign from July 15 to August 15 for the registration of construction labourers in Rajasthan to provide benefits to workers from various welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments. It was decided in a special meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot organised to discuss the draft labour codes proposed by the Central Government. CM Gehlot directed that during the campaign for registration of construction workers, the officers of the Labour Department should do on-spot registration by visiting construction sites and gathering places of labourers known as Chaukhati. With this, more and more construction workers will be able to take advantage of the schemes run under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCW). In the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed on early disposal of pending applications related to various schemes with BOCW on behalf of the families of construction workers. He said that for the operation of these schemes, the cess collection should be speeded up from the builders across the state. He also directed to conduct a special campaign for recovery of one percent cess of the cost of construction work from big buildings and other structure builders under the provisions of BOCW, get GIS mapping of construction works and to prepare an amnesty plan at the department level.
