Special assembly session to be held on April 16 to decide quota for Muslims, Tribals: Telangana CM

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday announced that a special assembly session will be held on April 16 so as to pass a legislation to increase quota for Muslims and Tribals. In his manifesto he had promised that, the reservations for Muslims and the existing quota of the Scheduled Tribes (STs) will be extended to 12 percent each. If the Telangana government decides to provide full 12 percent reservations each to Muslims and STs, then the total reservation in the state will reach 62 percent.
