Soybean futures slip on muted demand

New Delhi, Feb 11 (PTI) Soybean prices on Thursday fell by Rs 56 to Rs 4,712 per quintal in futures market as participants cut down their positions on weak spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean contracts for February delivery fell Rs 56, or 1.14 per cent, to Rs 4,712 per quintal with an open interest of 18,910 lots.

Soybean for March delivery went down by Rs 52, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 4,700 per quintal with an open interest of 2,22,895 lots.

The fall in soybean prices in futures trade was mostly due to reduction of exposure by participants, marketmen said. PTI SRS SHW SHW
