Soybean futures rise on fresh bets

New Delhi, Feb 9 (PTI) Soybean prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 83 to Rs 4,797 per quintal in futures market as traders created fresh positions tracking positive spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for February delivery gained Rs 83, or 1.76 per cent, to Rs 4,797 per quintal with an open interest of 41,880 lots.

Likewise, soybean for March delivery traded higher by Rs 80, or 1.7 per cent, to Rs 4,795 per quintal with an open interest of 2,06,150 lots.

Marketmen said raising of fresh positions by speculators on the back of higher demand mainly led to the rise in soybean prices. PTI SRS RUJ RUJ
