South Asian Americans Leading Together holds vigil in honour of victims of hate crime

Scores of South Asian Americans gathered for a vigil to honour the victims of hate crimes nationwide in Washington DC. Organised by the South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT) the vigil also saw a host of civil activists. This vigil was held to mourn the people who lost their lives due to hate crimes and also demand justice for the same. In the past month, four Indians were shot and two them fatally - one in Olathe, Kansas, and the other in Lancaster, South Carolina. The assailants in the shooting cases yelled at the victims to go back to their countries.
