Sopore terrorist attack: Police official who rescued child narrates sequence of events

Sopore (J&K), Jul 01(ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Police rescued 3-year-old child during a terrorist attack in Sopore on July 01. Sopore SHO Azim Khan who was among first to come to child’s rescue said, “The most disturbing scene for us was when we saw a small child moving around the body of his relative and the firing was going on. Our aim was to block the view first and rescue the child. Evacuating him was our priority.” Sopore SSP, Javaid Iqbal said, “Militants who were already present in the Masjid in model town did firing on our CRPF patrolling party. Militants did blind firing in which locals along with 4 CRPF personnel also got injured. Of 4, 1 CRPF personnel lost his life and a civilian has also died.”
