Sonia Gandhi rushed to Chandigarh hospital, later leaves for Delhi
Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi was rushed to a hospital in Chandigarh late last night after taking ill while travelling to the city from Shimla.
Gandhi was in Shimla since the last few days and was on her way to Chandigarh when she complained of breathing difficulties.
She was then admitted to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh at around 11:15pm.
After receiving medical attention at the hospital, Gandhi returned to her hotel at 2:30am. She later left for New Delhi.
Sonia has quit the post of the Congress president, which she held for nearly two decades. However, she continues to lead the United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
