The 64th Filmfare awards are here and so are the beauties! As expected the red carpet was set ablaze with splashes of colour and a lot of frills! Everyone from Katrina Kaif to Janhvi and Sonam Kapoor turned up in their frilly best! While the actresses did make sure to follow the minimal makeup and accessory trend their dresses were the stars, with elaborate structures and blinged out gowns, here is a look at what the stars came in for the biggest night of film awards!
The first to serenade the red carpet, Janhvi Kapoor picked a blushed gold gown that had a beautiful drapey structure. The off-shoulder gown was teamed elegantly with similar coloured strappy stilettos and she kept the accessories minimal with a diamond studded bracelet and studs for earrings. The side swept natural curls made for a great throwback to the ‘50s as far as her hairstyle was concerned.
Sonam Kapoor brought on the pop of pink on the red carpet. Dressed in a customised Ralph & Russo’s dress from their couture Spring Summer 2019 collection, Sonam showed us exactly why we look to her for red carpet extravaganza. Her hair slicked back in a bun and diamond studs for jewellery, the hot pink dress took centre stage! The customised gown is featured without the ruffle sleeve in the designers collection, but considering its the season of bold ruffles and structure, Sonam definitely picked right! We are totally living for the return of the mermaid cut!

Athiya Shetty did absolute justice to the Bibhu Mohapatra satin one shoulder dress. The two shaded dress with a black belt made us fall in love with satin again. Following the trend of minimalism, Athiya kept the dress simple with diamond danglers, matching bracelet and her hair in a neat ponytail.
The sequined black stunner worn by Alia Bhatt was none other than a couture collection by designer duo Ralph & Russo. While this dress gives us gothic princess feels, we can't stop staring at the well fit leather trimmed corset! And can we give a round of applause for that beautiful pearlescent smokey eye?
Can we all take a moment to appreciate this beautifully structured Dolly J dress? The see through stilettos and a simple pony were on point and was a big contributor in making sure Diana didn't get lost in the dress.
Fatima Sana Shaikh
Pink stole the show at this red carpet, and Fatima Sana Shaikh stood out in hers. The asymmetrical bright pink number by Monisha Jaising was beautifully paired with a Judith Leiber crystal-embellished clutch. The clutch, a favourite of the Kardashians, was not expected to make an appearance, but we’re not complaining. It definitely brought out her quirky sense of style.
While we go and add these dresses to our mood board for the season, be sure to drop us a comment and tell us which ones were your favourite from the night.
