This time it will be for a longer run.

RCB: Padikkal and Kohli could help RCB dominate games

Devdutt Padikkal showed his promise last season for RCB, smashing 473 runs.

The youngster scored 218 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21 before piling up the second-highest runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well.

Decision: Why Kohli wants to open for RCB and Team India

"I am going to open in the IPL as well. Have batted in different positions in the past. But I feel we have a solid middle order now. Will definitely like to partner Rohit at the top. Other guys feel a lot more confident when one of us is still in and is set. Augurs well for the team," he said.
