Six months into power, Yogi government faltering in all avenues of administration
Six months after UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assumed charge of the state, none of the bold promises made by the BJP have materialized on the ground.
At the time of Lok Sabha elections in 2014, the BJP had clearly said that the 'Jungle Raaj' in UP will end now, and 'Achhe Din' will arrive. People believed what the BJP promised and voted to bring the party in power both at Centre and Uttar Pradesh.
However, 6 months after UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assumed charge of the state, none of the bold promises made by the BJP have materialized on the ground. Corruption in government officers has increased instead of abating, inflation is at an all-time high and even BJP MLAs are not safe in Uttar Pradesh from the 'Jungle Raaj' that BJP promised to end within a month of assuming power.
Unknown assailants fired at the house of BJP MLA from Firozabad Manish Asija's house last evening, in which the MLA's son barely escaped getting shot. The police is investigating the incident and is nowhere near finding out who could have done this.
In Agra, BJP senior leader and party's state treasurer Naveen Jain's accountant was attacked when he was bringing cash Rs 14.5 lakh from the bank to Jain's office. Jain claims that the police did not agree to file an FIR at first and when they did, it was registered as an incident of theft instead of robbery.
Although the Senior Superintendents of Police in both districts paid for these incidents by being transferred to the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) since both the incidents were connected with senior BJP leaders, the state of law and order in Uttar Pradesh is spiraling out of control. The Yogi government's claims to have encountered 460 criminals in the past six months fall flat when murders and robberies continue in the state despite such a large death toll of criminals.
Social activist and SP Minority Wing former President Mohd. Yaseen Qureshi asked, if the Samajwadi Party's rule was called 'Jungle Raj' by the BJP, then what is happening in the state today? Loots, rapes, and kidnappings are showing an upward spike since Yogi Adityanath took charge of the state and communal sentiments pervade the atmosphere of the entire state.
All departments are showing an increase in the levels of corruption and it has become nearly impossible to get any work done in these departments without a bribe. The state's police force has become uncontrolled and when it is not even sparing the BJP leaders and workers, who would care for the common man.
He said that he was surprised when Yogi Adityanath was announcing his 'achievements' of the past six months in Mathura, claiming that these six months were the golden period of Uttar Pradesh. He said that the people of UP are very tolerant, but it is also a quality of the people of this state that they do not tolerate 'bluffmasters'. Just like the people removed Samajwadi Party from power, they could easily remove the BJP from the state in a similar manner.
