Singapore Celebrates Diwali 2017 In Style, Brings Diwali-Themed Buses And Trains Again

These trains and buses which are adorned with majestic elephants, colourful designs, and Indian rangoli motifs will ply from now till the end of October.

Diwali, the Festival of Lights is a gazette holiday in Singapore and the festival is celebrated with much pomp and fervor in the island country. This year once again the Singapore government has made Diwali extra special for the Hindus living in the country. Last year Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit, the statutory board under the Ministry of Transport of Government of Singapore and managed by Land Transport Authority had launched special Diwali themed trains on October 15, 2016. The designs and the decorations which was carefully guarded secret had taken the commuters by surprise and were deemed a great success. This year again, the board brought in the festivities with Diwali-themed trains. These trains and buses which are adorned with majestic elephants, colourful designs and Indian rangoli motifs will ply from now till the end of October. The pictures of the beautiful trains and buses were shared on the Facebook page of Land Transport Authority, and since then has gone viral garnering around 30,000 likes and proves yet again that Singapore celebrates Diwali in style.

The Land Transport Authority shared the images with the words, “Celebrate the Festival of Lights with your own unique Deepavali commute this year! Our #Deepavali themed trains and station are back with a different but equally stunning decoration – featuring majestic elephants and rangoli motifs that symbolise luck. From now till end Oct, the themed trains will run on the North East Line (#NEL) and Downtown Line (#DTL). And here’s something extra special for 2017 – we’re also launching five Deepavali themed buses on Services 23, 56, 65, 147 and 166. Psst, check out the photos for a visual treat. Catching the themed trains or buses? Hop off at #NEL / #DTL Little India Station, and continue your Deepavali journey under the elegant street lights right outside #Deepavali2017.” Diwali Celebrations Around The World In Countries Other Than India
