Sikkim reports 278 new COVID-19 cases, 5 more deaths

Gangtok, May 25 (PTI) Sikkim's COVID-19 tally rose to 13,511 as 278 more people tested positive for the virus while five new fatalities pushed the death toll to 237, a health department bulletin said on Tuesday.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported from East Sikkim district (178), West Sikkim (49), South Sikkim (44) and North Sikkim district (7), it said.

The Himalayan state now has 3,370 active COVID-19 cases while 9,692 patients have recovered from the disease, the bulletin said.

At least 212 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other states.

Sikkim has so far tested 1,11,529 samples for COVID-19 including 940 samples in the last 24 hours, it added. PTI KDK RG RG
