Siddaramaiah calls the PFI 'BJP's B-team' and asks why has the government not banned SDPI?

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been named 'Gang B of the radical Islamic organisation Common Front of India (PFI)' by former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He questioned why the central and state-run BJP did not ban the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), a PFI political outfit.

Siddaramaiah took potshots at the BJP speaking at the PFI raising day function held a few days ago. He asked whether the BJP had ample evidence as to why it wouldn't go ahead and just ban the PFI. During the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections, it emerged that Congress was in a strategic tie-up with the SDPI. The Siddaramaiah government earlier also gave an easy way out to people from the SDPI who were arrested in certain cases earlier.
