Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray holds party meet along with district presidents

Amid growing fissures within the Maha Vikas Aghadi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called a critical meeting of Shiv Sena district presidents today. The future strategy of the Shiv Sena would be decided at the meeting. The rift in the MVA escalated in June after senior Congress leaders, including Ashok Chavan and Balasaheb Thorat, publicly admitted that specific differences had cropped up in the alliance. Devendra Fadnavis had recently said that BJP and Shiv Sena are not enemies. According to Priyanka Chaturvedi, no back-channel talks are taking place between the Shiv Sena and the BJP.
