Delhi: SFI holds demonstration against ABVP, demands action against 'goons'

SFI members demonstrated against ABVP for inciting violence in DU campus.

Over 2,000 members of the Students Federation of India (SFI) held a demonstration in city today against ABVP for Ramjas College violence.

SFI members from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal and various other states participated in the demonstration.

"We have seen the RSS and ABVP goons come and attack our people and we are protesting against this. Our agitation will continue until strict action is taken against the guilty", said Sureah, a SFI worker from Kerala.

The All India President of SFI, Saanu said, "We will protest until there is freedom of speech and expression on campuses. Student ideologies should not be suppressed just because they are different from the ruling government."

DU has been been the nucleus of protests since February 21, when JNU students Umar Khalid and Sheila Rashid's seminar in Ramjas College was cancelled on opposition by ABVP.
