Security tightened in Latehar ahead of Jharkhand polls from Nov 30

As Jharkhand is gearing up to hold assembly elections from November 30, security arrangements have been tightened in Latehar, one of the 13 constituencies, which will vote in the first phase. All of the 13 constituencies fall under Naxal-infested area. "There are two assembly constituencies in Latehar district-Manika and Latehar. We've completed security preparations. We are ready to conduct the polls peacefully. Security forces have also been deployed at various places. Hypersensitive booths have been divided into clusters, super clusters and zones," said Zeeshan Qamar, Deputy Commissioner, Latehar. The 81-member assembly state will go to polls in five-phase between November 30 and December 20. Counting of votes will take place on December 23.
